SSSM New Training

The Strong Spirit Strong Mind Aboriginal Programs team is currently in the development of three new training packages. These training courses are designed to support the development of a skilled Aboriginal workforce within the AOD and broader community services sector to address Alcohol and Other Drugs, Social and Emotional Wellbeing and Youth issues that affect Aboriginal individuals, families and communities.

SSSM AOD Training

This training package aims to educate Aboriginal workers on how to engage and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families, and communities to reduce AOD use and associated harms.

SSSM SEWB Training

This training package outlines culturally secure ways of responding to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the community that experience mental health/SEWB disorders or distress.

SSSM Youth Training

This training package aims to meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, to build an understanding of the challenges faced by young Aboriginal people in our communities and educate Aboriginal Youth Workers on how to engage and support them better in a culturally secure manner.

More Information

The culturally secure training is scheduled to start in early 2025 and will be promoted on the Commission’s training calendar website for registrations.
