What is COVID-19?

COVID-19 is a new type of coronavirus which is spreading around the world.

It can make people sick and feel like they have a cold or the flu.

Some people will experience mild symptoms, and others will get very sick very quickly and will need medical help.

COVID-19 and Alcohol and other Drugs

Sometimes people use alcohol and other drugs to cope with worries already in their life.

For people who do have alcohol and other drugs or mental health issues, managing this, plus the uncertainty of the Coronavirus may make coping harder.

If you are finding it hard to cope, we strongly encourage you to contact the Alcohol and Drug Support Line and one of our counsellors can direct you to the most appropriate service.
